2 Peter 2:17-22
17These are 1springs without water and mists driven by a storm, 2for whom the 3black darkness has been reserved.
18For, while speaking out 4arrogant words of no 5value they 6entice by fleshly desires, by 7indecent behavior, those who barely 8escape from the ones who live in error,
19promising them freedom while they themselves are slaves of corruption; for 9by what anyone is overcome, by this he is enslaved.
20For if, after they have 10escaped the defilements of the world by 11the knowledge of the 12Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again 13entangled in them and are overcome, 14the last state has become worse for them than the first.
2115For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn away from 16the holy commandment 17handed on to them.
2218It has happened to them according to the true proverb, “19A dog returns to its own vomit,” and, “A sow, after washing, returns to wallowing in the mire.”
