2 Peter 2:15-20
15abandoning 1the right way, they have gone astray, having followed 2the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved 3the 4reward of unrighteousness; 16but he received a rebuke for his own offense, 5for a mute donkey, speaking with a human voice, restrained the insanity of the prophet.
17These are 6springs without water and mists driven by a storm, 7for whom the 8black darkness has been reserved. 18For, while speaking out 9arrogant words of no 10value they 11entice by fleshly desires, by 12indecent behavior, those who barely 13escape from the ones who live in error, 19promising them freedom while they themselves are slaves of corruption; for 14by what anyone is overcome, by this he is enslaved. 20For if, after they have 15escaped the defilements of the world by 16the knowledge of the 17Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again 18entangled in them and are overcome, 19the last state has become worse for them than the first.
