2 Peter 2:15-20

15forsaking 1the right way, they have gone astray, having followed 2the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved 3the wages of unrighteousness; 16but he received a rebuke for his own transgression, 4for a mute donkey, speaking with a voice of a man, restrained the madness of the prophet.

17These are 5springs without water and mists driven by a storm, 6for whom the 7black darkness has been reserved. 18For speaking out 8arrogant words of 9vanity they 10entice by fleshly desires, by 11sensuality, those who barely 12escape from the ones who live in error, 19promising them freedom while they themselves are slaves of corruption; for 13by what a man is overcome, by this he is enslaved. 20For if, after they have 14escaped the defilements of the world by 15the knowledge of the 16Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again 17entangled in them and are overcome, 18the last state has become worse for them than the first.
