1 Timothy 1:1-4

1Paul, 1an apostle of 2Christ Jesus 3according to the commandment of 4God our Savior, and of 5Christ Jesus, who is our 6hope,

2To 7Timothy, 8my true 9son in the faith: 10Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and 11Christ Jesus our Lord.

3Just as I urged you 12upon my departure for 13Macedonia, to remain on at 14Ephesus so that you would instruct certain people not to 15teach strange doctrines, 4nor to 16pay attention to 17myths and endless 18genealogies, which give rise to useless 19speculation rather than 20advance 21the plan of God, which is by faith, so I urge you now.
