1 Thessalonians 2:5-8

5For we never came 1with flattering speech, as you know, nor with 2a pretext 3for greed--4God is our witness-- 6nor did we 5seek honor from people, either from you or from others, though 6we could have 7asserted our authority as 8apostles of Christ. 7But we 9proved to be 1011gentle 12among you. 13As a nursing mother 14tenderly cares for her own children, 8in the same way we had a fond affection for you and were delighted to 15share with you not only the 16gospel of God, but also our own 17lives, because you had become 18very dear to us.
