Kings 12:28-32

So the king 1consulted, and he 2made two golden 3calves; and he said to 4the people, “It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem; 5behold your gods, Israel, that brought you up from the land of Egypt.”

And he set up 6one in 7Bethel, and the other he put in 8Dan.

Now 9this thing became a sin, for the people went to worship before the one as far as Dan.

And 10he made houses on high places, and 1112appointed priests from 13all the people who were not of the sons of Levi.

Jeroboam also 14instituted a feast in the eighth month on the fifteenth day of the month, 15like the feast that is in Judah, and he 16went up to the altar. So he did in Bethel, sacrificing to the calves which he had made. And he stationed in Bethel 17the priests of the high places which he had made.
