Ruth 2:4-16
4Now beholdH2009, BoazH1162 cameH935 from BethlehemH1035 and saidH559 to the reapersH7114, “1May the LordH3068 be with you.” And they saidH559 to him, “May the LordH3068 blessH1288 you.” 5Then BoazH1162 saidH559 to his servantH5288 who was 2in chargeH5324 of the reapersH7114, “WhoseH4310 youngH5291 womanH5291 is thisH2088?” 6The servantH5288 3in chargeH5324 of the reapersH7114 repliedH6030, “She is the youngH5291 MoabiteH4125 womanH5291 who returnedH7725 with NaomiH5281 from the landH7704 of MoabH4124. 7And she saidH559, ‘PleaseH4994 let me gleanH3950 and gatherH622 afterH310 the reapersH7114 among the sheavesH6016.’ Thus she cameH935 and has remainedH5975 from the morningH1242 untilH5704 nowH6258; she has been sittingH3427 in the houseH1004 for a littleH4592 whileH4592.”
8Then BoazH1162 saidH559 to RuthH7327, “4ListenH8085 carefullyH3808, my daughterH1323. Do not goH1980 to gleanH3950 in anotherH312 fieldH7704; furthermoreH1571, do not goH5674 on from thisH2088 oneH2088, but stayH1692 hereH3541 with my maidsH5291. 9Let your eyesH5869 be on the fieldH7704 whichH834 they reapH7114, and goH1980 afterH310 them. IndeedH3808, I have commandedH6680 the servantsH5288 not to touchH5060 you. When you are thirstyH6770, goH1980 to the 5waterH3267 jarsH3627 and drinkH8354 from whatH834 the servantsH5288 drawH7579.” 10Then she 6fellH5307 on her faceH6440, bowingH7812 to the groundH776 and saidH559 to him, “WhyH4069 have I foundH4672 favorH2580 in your sightH5869 that you should takeH5234 noticeH5234 of me, since I am a foreignerH5237?” 11BoazH1162 repliedH6030 to her, “AllH3605 that you have doneH6213 for your mother-in-lawH2545 afterH310 the deathH4194 of your husbandH376 has been fullyH5046 reportedH5046 to me, and how you leftH5800 your fatherH1 and your motherH517 and the landH776 of your birthH4138, and cameH1980 to a peopleH5971 that you did not previouslyH8543H8032 knowH3045. 127May the LordH3068 rewardH7999 your workH6467, and your wagesH4909 be fullH8003 from the LordH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, 8underH8478 whoseH834 wingsH3671 you have comeH935 to seekH2620 refugeH2620.” 13Then she saidH559, “I have foundH4672 favorH2580 in your sightH5869, my lordH113, for you have comfortedH5162 me and indeedH3588 have spokenH1696 9kindlyH3820 to your maidservantH8198, though I amH1961 not like oneH259 of your maidservantsH8198.”
14At mealtimeH6256H400 BoazH1162 saidH559 to her, “10ComeH5066 hereH1988, that you may eatH398 of the breadH3899 and dipH2881 your pieceH6595 of breadH6595 in the vinegarH2558.” So she satH3427 besideH4480H6654 the reapersH7114; and he 11servedH6642 her roastedH7039 grainH7039, and she ateH398 and was satisfiedH7646 12and hadH3498 some leftH3498. 15When she roseH6965 to gleanH3950, BoazH1162 commandedH6680 his servantsH5288, sayingH559, “Let her gleanH3950 evenH1571 amongH996 the sheavesH6016, and do not insultH3637 her. 16AlsoH1571 you shall purposelyH7997 pullH7997 out for her some grain from the bundlesH6653 and leaveH5800 it that she may gleanH3950, and do not rebukeH1605 her.”
