Nehemiah 9:27-37
27Therefore You 1deliveredH5414 them into the handH3027 of their oppressorsH6862 who oppressedH6887 them, But when they criedH6817 to You 2in the timeH6256 of their distressH6869, You heardH8085 from heavenH8064, and according to Your greatH7227 compassionH7356 You 3gaveH5414 them deliverersH3467 who deliveredH3467 them from the handH3027 of their oppressorsH6862.28But 4as soon as they hadH5117 restH5117, they didH6213 evilH7451 againH7725 beforeH6440 You; Therefore You abandonedH5800 them to the handH3027 of their enemiesH340, so that they ruledH7287 over them. When they criedH2199 againH7725 to You, You heardH8085 from heavenH8064, And 5manyH7227 timesH6256 You rescuedH5337 them according to Your compassionH7356,29And 6admonishedH5749 them in order to turnH7725 them backH7725 to Your lawH8451. Yet 7they actedH2102 arrogantlyH2102 and did not listenH8085 to Your commandmentsH4687 but sinnedH2398 against Your ordinancesH4941, By 8whichH834 if a manH120 observesH6213 them he shall liveH2421. And they 910turnedH5414 a stubbornH5637 shoulderH3802 and stiffenedH7185 their neckH6203, and would not listenH8085.3011However, You boreH4900 with them for manyH7227 yearsH8141, And 12admonishedH5749 them by 13Your SpiritH7307 throughH3027 Your prophetsH5030, Yet they would not giveH238 earH238. Therefore You gaveH5414 them into the handH3027 of the peoplesH5971 of the landsH776.31Nevertheless, in Your greatH7227 compassionH7356 You 14did not makeH6213 an endH3617 of them or forsakeH5800 them, For You are 15a graciousH2587 and compassionateH7349 GodH410.
32“NowH6258 therefore, our GodH430, 16the greatH1419, the mightyH1368, and the awesomeH3372 GodH410, who keepsH8104 covenantH1285 and lovingkindnessH2617, Do not let allH3605 the hardshipH8513 seemH4591 insignificantH4591 beforeH6440 You, WhichH834 has comeH4672 upon us, our kingsH4428, our princesH8269, our priestsH3548, our prophetsH5030, our fathersH1 and on allH3605 Your peopleH5971, 17From the daysH3117 of the kingsH4428 of AssyriaH804 to thisH2088 dayH3117.33However, 18You are justH6662 in allH3605 that has comeH935 upon us; For You have dealtH6213 faithfullyH571, but we have actedH7561 wickedlyH7561.34For our kingsH4428, our leadersH8269, our priestsH3548 and our fathersH1 have not keptH6213 Your lawH8451 Or paidH7181 attentionH7181 to Your commandmentsH4687 and Your 19admonitionsH5715 with whichH834 You have 20admonishedH5749 them.35But 21they, in their own kingdomH4438, 22With Your greatH7227 goodnessH2898 whichH834 You gaveH5414 them, With the broadH7342 and richH8082 landH776 whichH834 You setH5414 beforeH6440 them, Did not serveH5647 You or turnH7725 from their evilH7451 deedsH4611.36BeholdH2009, 23we are slavesH5650 todayH3117, And as to the landH776 whichH834 You gaveH5414 to our fathersH1 to eatH398 of its fruitH6529 and its bountyH2898, BeholdH2009, we are slavesH5650 in it.3724Its abundantH7235 produceH8393 is for the kingsH4428 WhomH834 You have setH5414 overH5921 us because of our sinsH2403; They also ruleH4910 overH5921 our bodiesH1472 And over our cattleH929 as they pleaseH7522, So we are in greatH1419 distressH6869.
