18Now the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478aroseוַיָּקֻ֜מוּvai.ya.Ku.muH6965,wentוַיַּעֲל֣וּvai.ya.'a.LuH5927up to BethelH1008, andinquiredוַיִּשְׁאֲל֣וּvai.yish.'a.LuH7592of Godבֵאלֹהִים֒ve.lo.HimH430and saidוַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙vai.yo.me.RuH559, “Whoמִ֚יmiH4310shall goיַעֲלֶה־ya.'a.leh-H5927up firstבַתְּחִלָּ֔הva.te.chi.LahH8462for us to battleלַמִּלְחָמָ֖הla.mil.cha.MahH4421againstעִם־'im-H5973the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Benjaminבִנְיָמִ֑ןvin.ya.MinH1144?”Then the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Judahיְהוּדָ֥הye.hu.DahH3063shall go upfirstבַתְּחִלָּֽה׃va.te.chi.LahH8462.”

19So the sonsבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478aroseוַיָּק֥וּמוּvai.ya.Ku.muH6965in the morningבַּבֹּ֑קֶרba.Bo.kerH1242and campedוַיַּֽחֲנ֖וּvai.ya.cha.NuH2583againstעַל־'al-H5921Gibeahהַגִּבְעָֽה׃ פha.giv.'AhH1390.

20The menאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478wentוַיֵּצֵא֙vai.ye.Tze'H3318out to battleלַמִּלְחָמָ֖הla.mil.cha.MahH4421againstעִם־'im-H5973Benjaminבִּנְיָמִ֑ןbin.ya.MinH1144,and the menאִֽישׁ־'ish-H376of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לYis.ra.'ElH3478arrayedוַיַּעַרְכ֨וּvai.ya.'ar.KhuH6186for battleמִלְחָמָ֖הmil.cha.MahH4421againstאִתָּ֧ם'i.TamH854them at Gibeahהַגִּבְעָֽה׃ha.giv.'AhH1390.

21Then the sonsבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Benjaminבִנְיָמִ֖ןvin.ya.MinH1144cameוַיֵּצְא֥וּvai.ye.tze.'UH3318out of Gibeahהַגִּבְעָ֑הha.giv.'AhH1390andfelledוַיַּשְׁחִ֨יתוּvai.yash.Chi.tuH7843to the groundאָֽרְצָה׃'A.re.tzahH776on that dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH311722,000שְׁנַ֨יִם וְעֶשְׂרִ֥ים אֶ֛לֶףshe.Na.yim ve.'es.Rim 'E.lefH8147 H6242 H505menאִ֖ישׁ'ishH376of Israelבְיִשְׂרָאֵ֜לve.Yis.ra.'ElH3478.

22But the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971,the menאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478,encouragedוַיִּתְחַזֵּ֥קvai.yit.cha.ZekH2388themselves and arrayedלַעֲרֹ֣ךְla.'a.RokhH6186for battleמִלְחָמָ֔הmil.cha.MahH4421againוַיֹּסִ֙פוּ֙vai.yo.Si.fuH3254in the placeבַּמָּק֕וֹםba.ma.KomH4725whereאֲשֶׁר־ שָׁ֖ם'a.Sher- shamH834 H8033they had arrayedעָ֥רְכוּ'A.re.khuH6186themselves the firstהָרִאשֽׁוֹן׃ha.ri.ShonH7223dayבַּיּ֥וֹםbai.YomH3117.

23The sonsבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478wentוַיַּעֲל֣וּvai.ya.'a.LuH5927up and weptוַיִּבְכּ֣וּvai.yiv.KuH1058beforeלִפְנֵֽי־lif.nei-H6440the Lordיְהוָה֮Yah.wehH3068untilעַד־'ad-H5704eveningהָעֶרֶב֒ha.'e.RevH6153, andinquiredוַיִּשְׁאֲל֤וּvai.yish.'a.LuH7592of the Lordבַֽיהוָה֙ba.Yah.wehH3068,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, “Shall we againהַאוֹסִ֗יףha.'o.SifH3254drawלָגֶ֙שֶׁת֙la.Ge.shetH5066nearH5066for battleלַמִּלְחָמָ֔הla.mil.cha.MahH4421againstעִם־'im-H5973the sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of my brotherאָחִ֑י'a.ChiH251Benjaminבִנְיָמִ֖ןvin.ya.MinH1144?”And the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Goעֲל֥וּ'a.LuH5927up againstאֵלָֽיו׃ פ'e.LavH413him.”
