2Thusכֹּ֤הkohH3541saysאָמַר֙'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֔וֹתtze.va.'otH6635, ‘I willpunishפָּקַ֕דְתִּיpa.Kad.tiH6485Amalekעֲמָלֵ֖ק'a.ma.LekH6002forwhatאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834he didעָשָׂ֥ה'a.SahH6213to Israelלְיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לle.Yis.ra.'ElH3478,howאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834he setשָׂ֥םsamH7760himself against him on the wayבַּדֶּ֔רֶךְba.De.rekhH1870while he was comingבַּעֲלֹת֖וֹba.'a.lo.ToH5927up from Egyptמִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃mi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714.

3Nowעַתָּה֩'a.TahH6258goלֵ֨ךְlekhH1980and strikeוְהִכִּֽיתָ֜הve.hi.ki.TahH5221Amalekעֲמָלֵ֗ק'a.ma.LekH6002andutterlyH2763destroyוְהַֽחֲרַמְתֶּם֙ve.ha.cha.ram.TemH2763allכָּל־kol-H3605that he has, and do not spareתַחְמֹ֖לtach.MolH2550him; butputוְהֵמַתָּ֞הve.he.ma.TahH4191to deathH4191bothH4480manמֵאִ֣ישׁme.'IshH376and womanאִשָּׁ֗ה'i.ShahH802,childמֵֽעֹלֵל֙me.'o.LelH5768and infantיוֹנֵ֔קyo.NekH3243,oxמִשּׁ֣וֹרmi.ShorH7794and sheepשֶׂ֔הSehH7716,camelמִגָּמָ֖לmi.ga.MalH1581and donkeyחֲמֽוֹר׃ סcha.MorH2543.’”

4Then Saulשָׁאוּל֙sha.'UlH7586summonedוַיְשַׁמַּ֤עvay.sha.Ma'H8085the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971andnumberedוַֽיִּפְקְדֵם֙vai.yif.ke.DemH6485them inTelaimבַּטְּלָאִ֔יםba.te.la.'ImH2923,200,000מָאתַ֥יִם אֶ֖לֶףma.Ta.yim 'E.lefH3967 H505footרַגְלִ֑יrag.LiH7273soldiersH7273and 10,000וַעֲשֶׂ֥רֶת אֲלָפִ֖יםva.'a.Se.ret 'a.la.FimH6235 H505menאִ֥ישׁ'ishH376of Judahיְהוּדָֽה׃ye.hu.DahH3063.

5Saulשָׁא֖וּלsha.'UlH7586cameוַיָּבֹ֥אvai.ya.Vo'H935to the cityעִ֣יר'irH5892of Amalekעֲמָלֵ֑ק'a.ma.LekH6002and setH693an ambushH693in the valleyבַּנָּֽחַל׃ba.Na.chalH5158.

6Saulשָׁא֣וּלsha.'UlH7586saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559tothe Kenitesהַקֵּינִ֡יha.kei.NiH7017, “Goלְכוּ֩le.KhuH1980,departסֻּ֨רוּSu.ruH5493,goרְד֜וּre.DuH3381downH3381from amongמִתּ֣וֹךְmi.TokhH8432the Amalekitesעֲמָלֵקִ֗י'a.mal.KiH6003,so that I do not destroyאֹֽסִפְךָ֙'o.sif.KhaH622you with them; foryou showedעָשִׂ֤יתָה'a.Si.tahH6213kindnessחֶ֙סֶד֙che.sedH2617to allכָּל־kol-H3605the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478when they cameבַּעֲלוֹתָ֖םba.'a.lo.TamH5927up from Egyptמִמִּצְרָ֑יִםmi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714.”So the Kenitesקֵינִ֖יkei.NiH7017departedוַיָּ֥סַרvai.Ya.sarH5493from amongמִתּ֥וֹךְmi.TokhH8432the Amalekitesעֲמָלֵֽק׃'a.ma.LekH6002.

7SoSaulשָׁא֖וּלsha.'UlH7586defeatedוַיַּ֥ךְvai.YakhH5221the Amalekitesעֲמָלֵ֑ק'a.ma.LekH6002, fromHavilahמֵֽחֲוִילָה֙me.cha.vi.LahH2341as you goבּוֹאֲךָ֣bo.'a.KhaH935toShurשׁ֔וּרShurH7793,whichאֲשֶׁ֖ר'a.SherH834iseastעַל־ פְּנֵ֥י'al- pe.NeiH5921 H6440of Egyptמִצְרָֽיִם׃mitz.Ra.yimH4714.

8He capturedוַיִּתְפֹּ֛שׂvai.yit.PosH8610Agagאֲגַ֥ג'a.GagH90the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of the Amalekitesעֲמָלֵ֖ק'a.ma.LekH6002aliveחָ֑יChaiH2416, andutterlyH2763destroyedהֶחֱרִ֥יםhe.che.RimH2763allכָּל־kol-H3605the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971with the edgeלְפִי־le.fi-H6310of the swordחָֽרֶב׃Cha.revH2719.

9But Saulשָׁא֨וּלsha.'UlH7586and the peopleוְהָעָ֜םve.ha.'AmH5971sparedוַיַּחְמֹל֩vai.yach.MolH2550Agagאֲגָ֗ג'a.GagH90and the bestמֵיטַ֣בmei.TavH4315of the sheepהַצֹּאן֩ha.tzoNH6629,the oxenוְהַבָּקָ֨רve.ha.ba.KarH1241,the fatlingsוְהַמִּשְׁנִ֤יםve.ha.mish.NimH4932,the lambsהַכָּרִים֙ha.ka.RimH3733,and allכָּל־kol-H3605that was goodהַטּ֔וֹבha.TovH2896,and were not willingאָב֖וּ'a.VuH14to destroyהַחֲרִימָ֑םha.cha.ri.MamH2763them utterlyH2763;but everythingוְכָל־ הַמְּלָאכָ֛הve.khol ha.me.la.KhahH3605 H4399despisedH959and worthlessוְנָמֵ֖סve.na.MesH4549,that they utterlyH2763destroyedהֶחֱרִֽימוּ׃ פhe.che.Ri.muH2763.
