Context of Genesis 19:24
22Hurry up! Run to it, for I cannot do anything until you get there.” Therefore the name of the city is Zoar. 23The sun had risen over the land when Lot reached Zoar. Then out of the sky the Lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah burning sulfur from the Lord. 25He demolished these cities, the entire plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and whatever grew on the ground. 26But Lot’s wife looked back and became a pillar of salt.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 24The Lord rained - brimstone and fire from the Lord - As all judgment is committed to the Son of God, many of the primitive fathers and several modern divines have supposed that the words ויהוה vaihovah and יהוה מאת meeth Yehovah imply, Jehovah the Son raining brimstone and fire from Jehovah the Father; and that this place affords no mean proof of the proper Divinity of our blessed Redeemer. It may be so; but though the point is sufficiently established…Read the comment

The raining down of fire and brimstone from heaven is perfectly accordant with this idea since those very substances, being…Read the comment
