1 Samuel 14:39-45

39For, asthe Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068livethחַי־chai-H2416,which savethהַמּוֹשִׁ֙יעַ֙ha.mo.Shi.a'H3467Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,though it beיֶשְׁנ֛וֹyesh.NoH3426in Jonathanבְּיוֹנָתָ֥ןbe.yo.na.TanH3129my sonבְּנִ֖יbe.NiH1121,he shall surelyמ֣וֹתMotH4191dieיָמ֑וּתya.MutH4191. But there wasnot a man among all the peopleהָעָֽם׃ha.'AmH5971thatansweredעֹנֵ֖הוּ'o.Ne.huH6030him.

40Then saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559he unto all Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478,Be ye on oneאֶחָ֔ד'e.ChadH259sideלְעֵ֣בֶרle.'E.verH5676,and I and Jonathanוְיוֹנָתָ֣ןve.yo.na.TanH3129my sonבְּנִ֔יbe.NiH1121will be on the otherאֶחָ֑ד'e.ChadH259sideלְעֵ֣בֶרle.'E.verH5676.And the peopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971saidוַיֹּאמְר֤וּvai.yo.me.RuH559unto Saulשָׁא֔וּלsha.'UlH7586,Doעֲשֵֽׂה׃ ס'a.SehH6213what seemethבְּעֵינֶ֖יךָbe.'ei.Nei.khaH5869goodהַטּ֥וֹבha.TovH2896unto thee.

41Therefore Saulשָׁא֗וּלsha.'UlH7586saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto the LordH3068GodH430of IsraelH3478,GiveH3051a perfectתָמִ֑יםta.MimH8549lot.And Saulוְשָׁא֖וּלve.sha.'UlH7586and JonathanH3129were takenוַיִּלָּכֵ֧דvai.yi.la.KhedH3920:but the peopleH5971escapedיָצָֽאוּ׃ya.Tza.'uH3318.

42And Saulשָׁא֔וּלsha.'UlH7586saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Castהַפִּ֕ילוּha.Pi.luH5307lotsbetween me and Jonathanיוֹנָתָ֣ןyo.na.TanH3129my sonבְּנִ֑יbe.NiH1121.And Jonathanיוֹנָתָֽן׃yo.na.TanH3129was takenוַיִּלָּכֵ֖דvai.yi.la.KhedH3920.

43Then Saulשָׁאוּל֙sha.'UlH7586saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Jonathanי֣וֹנָתָ֔ןyo.na.TanH3129,Tellהַגִּ֥ידָהha.Gi.dahH5046me what thou hast doneעָשִׂ֑יתָה'a.Si.tahH6213.And Jonathanיוֹנָתָ֗ןyo.na.TanH3129toldוַיַּגֶּד־vai.ya.ged-H5046him, and saidוַיֹּאמֶר֩vai.yo.MerH559,I did butטָעֹ֨םta.'OmH2938tasteטָעַ֜מְתִּיta.'Am.tiH2938a littleמְעַ֥טme.'AtH4592honeyדְּבַ֖שׁde.VashH1706with the endבִּקְצֵ֨הbik.TzehH7097of the rodהַמַּטֶּ֧הha.ma.TehH4294that wasin mine handבְּיָדִ֛יbe.ya.DiH3027, and,loH2009,I must dieאָמֽוּת׃'a.MutH4191.

44And Saulשָׁא֔וּלsha.'UlH7586answeredוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Godאֱלֹהִ֖ים'E.lo.HimH430do soיַעֲשֶׂ֥הya.'a.SehH6213and more alsoיוֹסִ֑ףyo.SifH3254:for thou shalt surelyמ֥וֹתMotH4191dieתָּמ֖וּתta.MutH4191,Jonathanיוֹנָתָֽן׃yo.na.TanH3129.
