8And he tarriedוַיּ֣וֹחֶלvai.yi.chelH3176sevenשִׁבְעַ֣תshiv.'AtH7651daysיָמִ֗יםya.MimH3117,according to the set timeלַמּוֹעֵד֙la.mo.'EdH4150that Samuelשְׁמוּאֵ֔לshe.mu.'ElH8050had appointed:but Samuelשְׁמוּאֵ֖לshe.mu.'ElH8050cameבָ֥אva'H935not to Gilgalהַגִּלְגָּ֑לha.gil.GalH1537;and the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971were scatteredוַיָּ֥פֶץvai.Ya.fetzH6327from him.

9And Saulשָׁא֔וּלsha.'UlH7586saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Bring hitherהַגִּ֣שׁוּha.Gi.shuH5066a burnt offeringהָעֹלָ֖הha.'o.LahH5930to me, and peace offeringsוְהַשְּׁלָמִ֑יםve.ha.she.la.MimH8002.And he offeredוַיַּ֖עַלvai.Ya.'alH5927the burnt offeringהָעֹלָֽה׃ha.'o.LahH5930.

10And it came to pass, that as soon as he had made an endכְּכַלֹּתוֹ֙ke.kha.lo.ToH3615of offeringלְהַעֲל֣וֹתle.ha.'a.LotH5927the burnt offeringהָעֹלָ֔הha.'o.LahH5930,behold, Samuelשְׁמוּאֵ֖לshe.mu.'ElH8050cameבָּ֑אBa'H935;and Saulשָׁא֛וּלsha.'UlH7586went outוַיֵּצֵ֥אvai.ye.Tze'H3318to meetH7125him, that he might saluteלְבָרֲכֽוֹ׃le.va.ra.KhoH1288him.

11And Samuelשְׁמוּאֵ֖לshe.mu.'ElH8050saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,What hast thou doneעָשִׂ֑יתָ'a.Si.taH6213?And Saulשָׁא֡וּלsha.'UlH7586saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Because I sawרָאִיתִי֩ra.'i.TiH7200that the peopleהָעָ֜םha.'AmH5971were scatteredנָפַ֨ץna.FatzH5310from me, and thatthou camestבָ֙אתָ֙va.taH935not within the daysהַיָּמִ֔יםhai.ya.MimH3117appointedלְמוֹעֵ֣דle.mo.'EdH4150, and thatthe Philistinesוּפְלִשְׁתִּ֖יםu.fe.lish.TimH6430gathered themselves togetherנֶאֱסָפִ֥יםne.'e.sa.FimH622at Michmashמִכְמָֽשׂ׃mikh.MasH4363;

12Therefore saidוָאֹמַ֗רva.'o.MarH559I, The Philistinesפְלִשְׁתִּ֤יםfe.lish.TimH6430will come downיֵרְד֨וּye.re.DuH3381now upon me to Gilgalהַגִּלְגָּ֔לha.gil.GalH1537,and I have not made supplicationחִלִּ֑יתִיchi.Li.tiH2470untoוּפְנֵ֥יu.fe.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068:I forcedוָֽאֶתְאַפַּ֔קva.'et.'a.PakH662myself therefore, and offeredוָאַעֲלֶ֖הva.'a.'a.LehH5927a burnt offeringהָעֹלָֽה׃ סha.'o.LahH5930.

13And Samuelשְׁמוּאֵ֛לshe.mu.'ElH8050saidוַיֹּ֧אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Saulשָׁא֖וּלsha.'UlH7586,Thou hast done foolishlyנִסְכָּ֑לְתָּnis.Kal.taH5528:thou hast not keptשָׁמַ֗רְתָּsha.Mar.taH8104the commandmentמִצְוַ֞תmitz.VatH4687of the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068thy Godאֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙'e.lo.Hei.khaH430,which he commandedצִוָּ֔ךְtzi.VakhH6680thee: for now would the Lordיְהוָ֧הYah.wehH3068have establishedהֵכִ֨יןhe.KhinH3559thy kingdomמַֽמְלַכְתְּךָ֛mam.lakh.te.KhaH4467upon Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478forעַד־'ad-H5704everעוֹלָֽם׃o.LamH5769.

14But now thy kingdomמַמְלַכְתְּךָ֣mam.lakh.te.KhaH4467shall not continueתָק֑וּםta.KumH6965:the Lordיְהוָ֨הYah.wehH3068hath soughtבִּקֵּשׁ֩bi.KeshH1245him a manאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376after his own heartכִּלְבָב֗וֹkil.va.VoH3824,and the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068hath commandedוַיְצַוֵּ֨הוּvay.tza.Ve.huH6680him to becaptainלְנָגִיד֙le.na.GidH5057over his peopleעַמּ֔וֹa.MoH5971,because thou hast not keptשָׁמַ֔רְתָּsha.Mar.taH8104thatwhich the Lordיְהוָֽה׃ פYah.wehH3068commandedצִוְּךָ֖tzi.ve.KhaH6680thee.
