Revised Version 1895
Isaiah 17:1-5
1The burdenH4853 of DamascusH1834. BeholdH2009, DamascusH1834 is takenH5493 awayH5493 from beingH1961 a cityH5892, and it shall be a ruinous heap.
2The citiesH5892 of AroerH6177 are forsaken: they shall be for flocksH5739, which shall lieH7257 downH7257, and noneH369 shall makeH2729 them afraidH2729.
3The fortressH4013 also shall ceaseH7673 from EphraimH669, and the kingdomH4467 from DamascusH1834, and the remnantH7605 of SyriaH758; they shall be as the gloryH3519 of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, saith the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635.
4And it shall comeH1961 to passH1961 in that dayH3117, that the gloryH3519 of JacobH3290 shall be madeH1961 thinH1809, and the fatness of his fleshH1320 shall wax leanH7329.
5And it shall be as when the harvestman gathereth the standingH7054 corn, and his armH2220 reapeth the earsH7641; yea, it shall be as when one gleaneth earsH7641 in the valleyH6010 of RephaimH7497.
