Revised Version 1895
Chronicles 36:5-21
JehoiakimH3079 was twentyH6242 and fiveH2568 yearsH8141 oldH1121 when he began to reignH4427; and he reignedH4427 elevenH6240 yearsH8141 in JerusalemH3389: and he didH6213 that whichH5869 was evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068 his GodH430.
AgainstH5921 him cameH5927 upH5927 NebuchadnezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894, and boundH631 him in fettersH5178, to carryH5927 him to BabylonH894.
NebuchadnezzarH5019 also carriedH935 of the vesselsH3627 of the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068 to BabylonH894, and putH5414 them in his templeH1004 at BabylonH894.
NowH2005 the restH3499 of the actsH1697 of JehoiakimH3079, and his abominationsH8441 whichH834 he didH6213, and that whichH834 was foundH4672 in him, beholdH2005, they are writtenH3789 in the bookH5612 of the kingsH4428 of IsraelH3478 and JudahH3063: and JehoiachinH3078 his sonH1121 reignedH4427 in his steadH8478.
JehoiachinH3078 was eightH8083 yearsH8141 oldH1121 when he began to reignH4427; and he reignedH4427 threeH7969 monthsH2320 and tenH6235 daysH3117 in JerusalemH3389: and he didH6213 that whichH5869 was evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068.
And at the returnH935 of the yearH8141 kingH4428 NebuchadnezzarH5019 sentH7971, and broughtH935 him to BabylonH894, with the goodly vesselsH3627 of the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068, and madeH3627 ZedekiahH6667 his brotherH251 kingH4428 over JudahH3063 and JerusalemH3389.
ZedekiahH6667 was twentyH6242 and one yearsH8141 oldH1121 when he began to reignH4427; and he reignedH4427 elevenH6240 yearsH8141 in JerusalemH3389:
and he didH6213 that whichH5869 was evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068 his GodH430; he humbledH3665 notH3808 himselfH3665 beforeH6440 JeremiahH3414 the prophetH5030 speaking from the mouthH6310 of the LORDH3068.
And he also rebelledH4775 againstH413 kingH4428 NebuchadnezzarH5019, who had madeH553 him swearH7650 by GodH430: but he stiffenedH7185 his neckH6203, and hardenedH7185 his heartH3824 from turningH7725 unto the LORDH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478.
MoreoverH1571 allH3605 the chiefsH8269 of the priestsH3548, and the peopleH5971, trespassed veryH1571 greatlyH7235 after allH3605 the abominationsH8441 of the heathen; and they polluted the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068 whichH834 he had hallowed in JerusalemH3389.
And the LORDH3068, the GodH430 of their fathersH1, sentH7971 to them by his messengersH4397, risingH7925 upH7925 earlyH7925 and sendingH7971; becauseH3588 he had compassionH2550 on his peopleH5971, and on his dwellingH4583 placeH3027:
but they mockedH3931 the messengersH4397 of GodH430, and despisedH959 his wordsH1697, and scoffed at his prophetsH5030, untilH5704 the wrathH2534 of the LORDH3068 aroseH5927 againstH5927 his peopleH5971, tillH5704 there was noH369 remedyH4832.
Therefore he broughtH5927 uponH5921 them the kingH4428 of the ChaldeansH3778, who slewH2026 their youngH970 menH970 with the swordH2719 in the houseH1004 of their sanctuaryH4720, and had noH3808 compassionH2550 uponH5921 youngH970 manH2205 or maiden, oldH2205 manH2205 or ancient: he gaveH5414 them allH3605 intoH5921 his handH3027.
And allH3605 the vesselsH3627 of the houseH1004 of GodH430, greatH1419 and smallH6996, and the treasuresH214 of the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068, and the treasuresH214 of the kingH4428, and of his princesH8269; allH3605 theseH3605 he broughtH935 to BabylonH894.
And they burntH8313 the houseH1004 of GodH430, and brake downH5422 the wallH2346 of JerusalemH3389, and burntH8313 allH3605 the palacesH759 thereof with fireH784, and destroyedH7843 allH3605 the goodly vesselsH3627 thereof.
And them that had escapedH7611 from the swordH2719 carriedH1540 he awayH1540 to BabylonH894; and they were servantsH5650 to him and his sonsH1121 untilH5704 the reignH4438 of the kingdomH4438 of PersiaH6539:
to fulfillH4390 the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 by the mouthH6310 of JeremiahH3414, untilH5704 the landH776 had enjoyedH7521 herH3605 sabbathsH7676 for as longH5704 as sheH5704 lay desolateH8074 sheH5704 kept sabbathH7676, to fulfillH4390 threescore and ten yearsH8141.
