Revised Version 1895
Chronicles 35:20-25
AfterH310 allH3605 this, when JosiahH2977 had preparedH3559 the templeH1004, NecoH5224 kingH4428 of EgyptH4714 wentH3318 upH5927 to fightH3898 againstH5921 CarchemishH3751 by EuphratesH6578: and JosiahH2977 wentH3318 outH3318 againstH5921 him.
But he sentH7971 ambassadorsH4397 to him, sayingH559, WhatH4100 have I to doH408 with thee, thou kingH4428 of JudahH3063? I come notH3808 againstH5921 thee this dayH3117, but againstH5921 the houseH1004 wherewith I have warH4421; and GodH430 hath commandedH559 meH413 to makeH3588 haste: forbear thee from meddling with GodH430, who is with meH413, that he destroyH7843 thee notH3808.
NeverthelessH3588 JosiahH2977 would notH3808 turnH5437 his faceH6440 from him, but disguisedH2664 himselfH6440, that he might fightH3898 with him, and hearkened notH3808 unto the wordsH1697 of NecoH5224, from the month of GodH430, and cameH935 to fightH3898 in the valleyH1237 of MegiddoH4023.
And the archersH3384 shotH3384 at kingH4428 JosiahH2977; and the kingH4428 saidH559 to his servantsH5650, Have meH5650 awayH5674; for I am sore woundedH2470.
SoH4480 his servantsH5650 tookH4191 him outH4480 of the chariotH4818, and putH4191 him in the secondH4932 chariotH4818 that he had, and brought him to JerusalemH3389; and he diedH4191, and was buriedH6912 in the sepulchres of his fathersH1. And allH3605 JudahH3063 and JerusalemH3389 mournedH56 for JosiahH2977.
And JeremiahH3414 lamented for JosiahH2977: and allH3605 the singingH7891 menH3605 and singingH7891 womenH6969 spake of JosiahH2977 in their lamentationsH7015, unto this dayH3117; and they madeH5414 them an ordinanceH2706 in IsraelH3478: and, beholdH2005, they are writtenH3789 in the lamentationsH7015.
