13And the kingמֶ֨לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of the childrenבְּנֵי־be.nei-H1121of Ammonעַמּ֜וֹןa.MonH5983answeredוַיֹּאמֶר֩vai.yo.MerH559unto the messengersמַלְאֲכֵ֣יmal.'a.KheiH4397of Jephthahיִפְתָּ֗חyif.TachH3316,Because Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֤לYis.ra.'ElH3478took awayלָקַ֨חla.KachH3947my landאַרְצִי֙'ar.TziH776,when they came upבַּעֲלוֹת֣וֹba.'a.lo.ToH5927out of Egyptמִמִּצְרַ֔יִםmi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714,from Arnonמֵאַרְנ֥וֹןme.'ar.NonH769even unto Jabbokהַיַּבֹּ֖קhai.ya.BokH2999,and unto Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּ֑ןhai.yar.DenH3383: now therefore restore those landsagainהָשִׁ֥יבָהha.Shi.vahH7725peaceablyבְּשָׁלֽוֹם׃be.sha.LomH7965.

14And Jephthahיִפְתָּ֑חyif.TachH3316sentוַיִּשְׁלַח֙vai.yish.LachH7971messengersמַלְאָכִ֔יםmal.'a.KhimH4397againוַיּ֥וֹסֶףvai.Yo.sefH3254unto the kingמֶ֖לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of the childrenבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Ammonעַמּֽוֹן׃a.MonH5983:

15And saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto him, Thus saithאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559Jephthahיִפְתָּ֑חyif.TachH3316,Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478took not awayלָקַ֤חla.KachH3947the landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776of Moabמוֹאָ֔בmo.'AvH4124,nor the landאֶ֖רֶץ'E.retzH776of the childrenבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Ammonעַמּֽוֹן׃a.MonH5983:

16But when Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֤לYis.ra.'ElH3478came upבַּעֲלוֹתָ֣םba.'a.lo.TamH5927from Egyptמִמִּצְרָ֑יִםmi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714,and walkedH3212through the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּר֙ba.mid.BarH4057unto the Redס֔וּףSufH5488seaיַם־yam-H3220,and cameוַיָּבֹ֖אvai.ya.Vo'H935to Kadeshקָדֵֽשָׁה׃ka.De.shahH6946;

17Then Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֣לYis.ra.'ElH3478sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֣חvai.yish.LachH7971messengersמַלְאָכִ֣ים׀mal.'a.KhimH4397unto the kingמֶלֶךְ֩me.leKhH4428of Edomאֱד֨וֹם׀'e.DomH123,sayingלֵאמֹ֜רle.MorH559,Let me, I pray thee, pass throughאֶעְבְּרָה־'e'.be.rah-H5674thy landבְאַרְצֶ֗ךָve.'ar.Tze.khaH776:but the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Edomאֱד֔וֹם'e.DomH123would not hearkenשָׁמַע֙sha.Ma'H8085thereto.And in like manner they sentשָׁלַ֖חsha.LachH7971unto the kingמֶ֧לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Moabמוֹאָ֛בmo.'AvH4124:but he wouldאָבָ֑ה'a.VahH14not consent:and Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478abodeוַיֵּ֥שֶׁבvai.Ye.shevH3427in Kadeshבְּקָדֵֽשׁ׃be.ka.DeshH6946.

18Then they went alongH3212through the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֗רba.mid.BarH4057,and compassedוַיָּ֜סָבvai.Ya.sovH5437the landאֶ֤רֶץ'E.retzH776of Edomאֱדוֹם֙'e.dOmH123,and the landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776of Moabמוֹאָ֔בmo.'AvH4124,and cameוַיָּבֹ֤אvai.ya.Vo'H935by the east sideמִמִּזְרַח־ שֶׁ֙מֶשׁ֙mi.miz.rach- she.meshH8121 H4217of the landלְאֶ֣רֶץle.'E.retzH776of Moabמוֹאָ֔בmo.'AvH4124,and pitchedוַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּןvai.ya.cha.NunH2583on the other sideבְּעֵ֣בֶרbe.'E.verH5676of Arnonאַרְנ֑וֹן'ar.NonH769,but cameבָ֙אוּ֙va.'uH935not within the borderבִּגְב֣וּלbig.VulH1366of Moabמוֹאָ֔בmo.'AvH4124:for Arnonאַרְנ֖וֹן'ar.NonH769wasthe borderגְּב֥וּלge.VulH1366of Moabמוֹאָֽב׃mo.'AvH4124.

19And Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֤חvai.yish.LachH7971messengersמַלְאָכִ֔יםmal.'a.KhimH4397unto Sihonסִיח֥וֹןsi.ChonH5511kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of the Amoritesהָאֱמֹרִ֖יha.'e.mo.RiH567,the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Heshbonחֶשְׁבּ֑וֹןchesh.BonH2809;and Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto him, Let us passנַעְבְּרָה־na'.be.rah-H5674,we pray thee, through thy landבְאַרְצְךָ֖ve.'ar.tze.KhaH776intoעַד־'ad-H5704my placeמְקוֹמִֽי׃me.ko.MiH4725.

20But Sihonסִיח֤וֹןsi.ChonH5511trustedהֶאֱמִ֨יןhe.'e.MinH539not Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478to passעֲבֹ֣ר'a.VorH5674through his coastבִּגְבֻל֔וֹbig.vu.LoH1366:but Sihonסִיחוֹן֙si.chOnH5511gatheredוַיֶּאֱסֹ֤ףvai.ye.'e.SofH622all his peopleעַמּ֔וֹa.MoH5971togetherH622,and pitchedוַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּvai.ya.cha.NuH2583in Jahazבְּיָ֑הְצָהbe.Ya.he.tzahH3096,and foughtוַיִּלָּ֖חֶםvai.yi.La.chemH3898against Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.

21And Yhwhיְהוָ֨הYah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵֽי־'e.lo.hei-H430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֜לYis.ra.'ElH3478deliveredוַ֠יִּתֵּןVai.yi.tenH5414Sihonסִיח֧וֹןsi.ChonH5511and all his peopleעַמּ֛וֹa.MoH5971into the handבְּיַ֥דbe.YadH3027of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478,and they smoteוַיַּכּ֑וּםvai.ya.KumH5221them: so Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478possessedוַיִּירַשׁ֙vai.yi.RashH3423all the landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776of the Amoritesהָאֱמֹרִ֔יha.'e.mo.RiH567,the inhabitantsיוֹשֵׁ֖בyo.ShevH3427of that countryהָאָ֥רֶץha.'A.retzH776.

22And they possessedוַיִּ֣ירְשׁ֔וּvai.Yi.re.ShuH3423all the coastsגְּב֣וּלge.VulH1366of the Amoritesהָאֱמֹרִ֑יha.'e.mo.RiH567,from Arnonמֵֽאַרְנוֹן֙me.'ar.nOnH769even unto Jabbokהַיַּבֹּ֔קhai.ya.BokH2999,and from the wildernessהַמִּדְבָּ֖רha.mid.BarH4057even unto Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃hai.yar.DenH3383.

23So now Yhwhיְהוָ֣ה׀Yah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478hath dispossessedהוֹרִישׁ֙ho.RishH3423the Amoritesהָ֣אֱמֹרִ֔יha.'e.mo.RiH567from beforeמִפְּנֵ֖יmi.pe.NeiH6440his peopleעַמּ֣וֹa.MoH5971Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478,and shouldest thou possessתִּירָשֶֽׁנּוּ׃ti.ra.She.nuH3423it?

24Wilt not thou possessיוֹרִֽישְׁךָ֛yo.ri.she.KhaH3423that which Chemoshכְּמ֥וֹשׁke.Mo.oshH3645thy godאֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430giveth thee to possessתִירָ֑שׁti.RashH3423?So whomsoever Yhwhיְהוָ֧הYah.wehH3068our Godאֱלֹהֵ֛ינוּ'e.lo.Hei.nuH430shall drive outהוֹרִ֜ישׁho.RishH3423from beforeמִפָּנֵ֖ינוּmi.pa.Nei.nuH6440us, them will we possessנִירָֽשׁ׃ni.RashH3423.

25And now artthou any thing betterH2896than Balakמִבָּלָ֥קmi.ba.LakH1111the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Zipporצִפּ֖וֹרtzi.PorH6834,kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Moabמוֹאָ֑בmo.'AvH4124?did he everהֲר֥וֹבha.RovH7378striveרָב֙ravH7378against Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,or did he everנִלְחֹ֥םnil.ChomH3898fightנִלְחַ֖םnil.ChamH3898against them,
