17But of the treeוּמֵעֵ֗ץu.me.'EtzH6086of the knowledgeהַדַּ֙עַת֙ha.Da.'atH1847of goodט֣וֹבTovH2896and evilוָרָ֔עva.Ra'H7451,thou shalt not eatתֹאכַ֖לto.KhalH398of it: for in the dayבְּי֛וֹםbe.YomH3117that thou eatestאֲכָלְךָ֥'a.khal.KhaH398thereof thou shalt surelyמ֥וֹתMotH4191dieתָּמֽוּת׃ta.MutH4191.

18And Yhwhיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהִ֔ים'E.lo.HimH430saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559, It isnot goodט֛וֹבTovH2896that the manהָֽאָדָ֖םha.'a.DamH120should beהֱי֥וֹתhe.YotH1961alone; I will makeאֶֽעֱשֶׂהּ־'e.'e.seh-H6213him an help meetעֵ֖זֶר'E.zerH5828for him.

19And out of the groundהָֽאֲדָמָ֗הha.'a.da.MahH127Yhwhיְהוָ֨הYah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהִ֜ים'E.lo.HimH430formedוַיִּצֶר֩vai.yi.TzerH3335every beastחַיַּ֤תchai.YatH2416of the fieldהַשָּׂדֶה֙ha.sa.DehH7704,and every fowlע֣וֹףofH5775of the airהַשָּׁמַ֔יִםha.sha.Ma.yimH8064;and broughtוַיָּבֵא֙vai.ya.Ve'H935themunto Adamהָ֣אָדָ֔םha.'a.DamH120to seeלִרְא֖וֹתlir.'otH7200what he would callיִּקְרָא־yik.ra'-H7121them: and whatsoever Adamהָֽאָדָ֛םha.'a.DamH120calledיִקְרָא־yik.ra'-H7121every livingחַיָּ֖הchai.YahH2416creatureנֶ֥פֶשׁNe.feshH5315,thatה֥וּאhu'H1931wasthe name thereofשְׁמֽוֹ׃she.MoH8034.

20And AdamH120gaveוַיִּקְרָ֨אvai.yik.Ra'H7121namesשֵׁמ֗וֹתshe.MotH8034to all cattleהַבְּהֵמָה֙ha.be.he.MahH929,and to the fowlוּלְע֣וֹףu.le.'ofH5775of the airהַשָּׁמַ֔יִםha.sha.Ma.yimH8064,and to every beastחַיַּ֣תchai.YatH2416of the fieldהַשָּׂדֶ֑הha.sa.DehH7704;but for AdamH120there was not foundמָצָ֥אma.Tza'H4672an help meetעֵ֖זֶר'E.zerH5828for him.

21And Yhwhיְהוָ֨הYah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהִ֧ים׀'E.lo.HimH430causedH5307a deep sleepתַּרְדֵּמָ֛הtar.de.MahH8639to fallוַיַּפֵּל֩vai.ya.PelH5307upon AdamH121,and he sleptוַיִּישָׁ֑ןvai.yi.ShanH3462:and he tookוַיִּקַּ֗חvai.yi.KachH3947oneאַחַת֙'a.ChatH259of his ribsמִצַּלְעֹתָ֔יוmi.tzal.'o.TavH6763,and closed upוַיִּסְגֹּ֥רvai.yis.GorH5462the fleshבָּשָׂ֖רba.SarH1320instead thereof;

22And the ribהַצֵּלָ֛עha.tze.La'H6763,which Yhwhיְהוָ֨הYah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהִ֧ים׀'E.lo.HimH430had takenלָקַ֥חla.KachH3947from manהָֽאָדָ֖םha.'a.DamH120,madeוַיִּבֶן֩vai.yi.VenH1129he a womanלְאִשָּׁ֑הle.'i.ShahH802,and broughtוַיְבִאֶ֖הָvay.vi.'E.haH935her unto the manהָֽאָדָֽם׃Ha.'a.DamH120.

23And Adamהָֽאָדָם֒ha.'a.DamH120saidוַיֹּאמֶר֮vai.yo.MerH559,Thisזֹ֣אתzotH2063isnowהַפַּ֗עַםha.Pa.'amH6471boneעֶ֚צֶם'E.tzemH6106of my bonesמֵֽעֲצָמַ֔יme.'a.tza.MaiH6106,and fleshוּבָשָׂ֖רu.va.SarH1320of my fleshמִבְּשָׂרִ֑יmi.be.sa.RiH1320:sheלְזֹאת֙le.zoTH2063shall be calledיִקָּרֵ֣אyi.ka.Re'H7121Womanאִשָּׁ֔ה'i.ShahH802,because sheזֹּֽאת׃ZotH2063was takenלֻֽקֳחָה־lu.ko.chah-H3947out of Manמֵאִ֖ישׁme.'IshH376.

24Thereforeכֵּן֙kenH3651shall a manאִ֔ישׁ'IshH376leaveיַֽעֲזָב־ya.'a.zov-H5800his fatherאָבִ֖יו'a.VivH1and his motherאִמּ֑וֹ'i.MoH517,and shall cleaveוְדָבַ֣קve.da.VakH1692unto his wifeבְּאִשְׁתּ֔וֹbe.'ish.ToH802:and they shall be oneאֶחָֽד׃'e.ChadH259fleshלְבָשָׂ֥רle.va.SarH1320.

25And they were bothשְׁנֵיהֶם֙she.nei.HemH8147nakedעֲרוּמִּ֔ים'a.ru.MimH6174,the manהָֽאָדָ֖םha.'a.DamH120and his wifeוְאִשְׁתּ֑וֹve.'ish.ToH802,and were not ashamedיִתְבֹּשָֽׁשׁוּ׃yit.bo.Sha.shuH954.
