Nahum 2:1-7
11The one who 2scatters has come up against 3you. Keep watch over the fortress, watch the road; 4Bind up your waist, 5summon all your strength.2For the Lord will restore the 6splendor of Jacob 7Like the splendor of Israel, Even though destroyers have laid waste to them And 8ruined their vines.
3The shields of 9his warriors are dyed red, The warriors are dressed in 10scarlet, The chariots are fitted with 11flashing steel 12When he is prepared to march, And the juniper 13spears are brandished.4The 14chariots drive wildly in the streets, They rush around in the 15public squares; Their appearance is like torches, They drive back and forth like lightning flashes.5He remembers his 16officers; They 17stumble in their advance, They hurry to her wall, And the 18mantelet is set up.6The gates of the rivers are opened And the palace sways back and forth.7It is set: She is stripped, she is led away, And her slave women are 19sobbing like the sound of doves, 20Beating their 21breasts.
