Matthew 27:26-30

26Then he released Barabbas 1for them; but after having Jesus 2flogged, he handed Him over to be crucified.

273Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into 4the 5Praetorium and gathered the whole Roman 67cohort to Him. 28And they stripped Him and 8put a red 9cloak on Him. 2910And after twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and put a 11reed in His right hand; and they knelt down before Him and mocked Him, saying, “12Hail, King of the Jews!” 30And 13they spit on Him, and took the reed and beat Him on the head.
