Matthew 19:13-30
131Then some children were brought to Him so that He would lay His hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them. 14But Jesus said, “23Leave the children alone, and do not 4forbid them to come to Me; for 5the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” 15After laying His hands on them, He departed from there.
166And someone came to Him and said, “Teacher, what good thing shall I do so that I may obtain 7eternal life?” 17And He said to him, “Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but 8if you want to enter life, keep the commandments.” 18Then he said to Him, “Which ones?” And Jesus said, “9You shall not commit murder; You shall not commit adultery; You shall not steal; You shall not give false testimony; 1910Honor your father and mother; and 11You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 20The young man said to Him, “All these I have kept; what am I still lacking?” 21Jesus said to him, “If you want to be 12complete, go and 13sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have 14treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” 22But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property.
23And Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I say to you, 15it will be hard for a rich person to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24And again I say to you, 16it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.” 25When the disciples heard this, they were very astonished and said, “Then who can be saved?” 26And looking at them, Jesus said to them, “17With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
27Then Peter responded and said to Him, “Behold, we have left everything and followed You; what then will there be for us?” 28And Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you, that you who have followed Me, in the 18regeneration when 19the Son of Man will sit on 20His glorious throne, 21you also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29And 22everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother 23or children or farms on account of My name, will receive 24many times as much, and will inherit eternal life. 3025But many who are first will be last; and the last, first.
