Mark 15:23-38

23And they tried to give Him 1wine mixed with myrrh; but He did not take it. 24And they crucified Him, and 2divided up His garments among themselves, casting 3lots for them to decide 4what each man would take. 25Now it was the 56third hour 7when they crucified Him. 26The inscription of the charge against Him 8read, “9THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

27And they crucified two 10rebels with Him, one on His right and one on His left.11 29Those passing by were 12hurling abuse at Him, 13shaking their heads and saying, “Ha! You who are going to 14destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, 30save Yourself by coming down from the cross!” 31In the same way the chief priests also, along with the scribes, were mocking Him among themselves and saying, “15He saved others; 16He cannot save Himself! 32Let this Christ, 17the King of Israel, come down now from the cross, so that we may see and believe!” 18Those who were crucified with Him were also insulting Him.

3319When the 2021sixth hour came, darkness 22fell over the whole land until the 2324ninth hour. 34At the 2526ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “27Eloi, Eloi, lema sabaktanei?” which is translated, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” 35And when some of the bystanders heard Him, they began saying, “Look! He is calling for Elijah!” 36And someone ran and filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on a reed, and gave Him a drink, saying, “28Let us see if Elijah comes to take Him down.” 3729But Jesus let out a loud cry, and 30died. 3831And the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.
