Luke 19:30-48

30saying, “Go into the village 1ahead of you; there, as you enter, you will find a colt tied, on which no one yet has ever sat; untie it and bring it here. 31And if anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ you shall say this: ‘2The Lord has need of it.’” 32So those who were sent left and found it just as He had told them. 33And as they were untying the colt, its 3owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?” 34They said, “4The Lord has need of it.” 35And they brought it to Jesus, 5and they threw their cloaks on the colt and put Jesus on it. 36Now as He was going, they were spreading their cloaks on the road. 37And as soon as He was approaching, near the descent of 6the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of the disciples began to 7praise God 8joyfully with a loud voice for all the 9miracles which they had seen, 3810shouting: “11Blessed is the 12King, the One who comes in the name of the Lord; Peace in heaven and 13glory in the highest!” 3914And yet some of the Pharisees 15in the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples!” 40Jesus replied, “I tell you, if these stop speaking, 16the stones will cry out!”

41When He approached Jerusalem, He saw the city and 17wept over it, 42saying, “If you had known on this day, even you, the conditions for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes. 43For the days will come upon you 18when your enemies will 19put up a 20barricade against you, and 21surround you and hem you in on every side, 44and they will level you to the ground, and throw down your children within you, and 22they will not leave in you one stone upon 23another, because you did not recognize 24the time of your visitation.”

4525And Jesus entered the temple grounds and began to drive out those who were selling, 46saying to them, “It is written: ‘26And My house will be a house of prayer,’ 27but you have made it a den of robbers.”

47And 28He was teaching daily in the temple; but the chief priests and the scribes and the leading men among the people 29were trying to put Him to death, 48and yet they could not find 30anything that they might do, for all the people were hanging on to 31every word He said.
