Luke 19:28-48
28After Jesus said these things, He 1was going on ahead, 2going up to Jerusalem.
293When He approached Bethphage and 4Bethany, near the 5mountain that is called 6Olivet, He sent two of the disciples, 30saying, “Go into the village 7ahead of you; there, as you enter, you will find a colt tied, on which no one yet has ever sat; untie it and bring it here. 31And if anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ you shall say this: ‘8The Lord has need of it.’” 32So those who were sent left and found it just as He had told them. 33And as they were untying the colt, its 9owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?” 34They said, “10The Lord has need of it.” 35And they brought it to Jesus, 11and they threw their cloaks on the colt and put Jesus on it. 36Now as He was going, they were spreading their cloaks on the road. 37And as soon as He was approaching, near the descent of 12the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of the disciples began to 13praise God 14joyfully with a loud voice for all the 15miracles which they had seen, 3816shouting: “17Blessed is the 18King, the One who comes in the name of the Lord; Peace in heaven and 19glory in the highest!” 3920And yet some of the Pharisees 21in the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples!” 40Jesus replied, “I tell you, if these stop speaking, 22the stones will cry out!”
41When He approached Jerusalem, He saw the city and 23wept over it, 42saying, “If you had known on this day, even you, the conditions for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes. 43For the days will come upon you 24when your enemies will 25put up a 26barricade against you, and 27surround you and hem you in on every side, 44and they will level you to the ground, and throw down your children within you, and 28they will not leave in you one stone upon 29another, because you did not recognize 30the time of your visitation.”
4531And Jesus entered the temple grounds and began to drive out those who were selling, 46saying to them, “It is written: ‘32And My house will be a house of prayer,’ 33but you have made it a den of robbers.”
47And 34He was teaching daily in the temple; but the chief priests and the scribes and the leading men among the people 35were trying to put Him to death, 48and yet they could not find 36anything that they might do, for all the people were hanging on to 37every word He said.
