Lamentations 1:3-5
31Judah has gone into exile out of affliction And 2harsh servitude; She lives 3among the nations, But she has not found a resting place; All those who 4pursued her have overtaken her In the midst of 5distress.4The roads 6of Zion are in mourning Because 7no one comes to an appointed feast. All her gates are 8deserted; Her priests groan, Her 9virgins are worried, And as for Zion herself, it is 10bitter for her.5Her adversaries have become 11her masters, Her enemies are 12secure; For the Lord has 1314caused her grief Because of the multitude of her wrongdoings; Her little ones have gone away As captives 15led by the enemy.
