Lamentations 1:3-5
31Judah has gone into exile 2under affliction And 3under 4harsh servitude; She dwells 5among the nations, But she has found no rest; All 6her pursuers have overtaken her In the midst of 7distress.4The roads 8of Zion are in mourning Because 9no one comes to the appointed feasts. All her gates are 10desolate; Her priests are groaning, Her 11virgins are afflicted, And she herself 12is 13bitter.5Her adversaries have become 14her masters, Her enemies 15prosper; For the Lord has 16caused her grief Because of the multitude of her transgressions; Her little ones have gone away As captives before the adversary.
