John 1:5-13

5And 1the Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not 2grasp it.

6A man 3came, one sent from God, and his name was 4John. 75He came 67as a witness, to testify about the Light, 8so that all might believe through him. 8910He was not the Light, but he came to testify about the Light.

911This was 12the true Light 13that, coming into the world, enlightens every person. 10He was in the world, and 14the world came into being through Him, and yet the world did not 15know Him. 11He came to His 16own, and His own people did not 17accept Him. 12But 18as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become 19children of God, 20to those who 21believe in His name, 1322who were 23born, not of 24blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of a man, but of God.
