John 1:25-28
25They asked him, and said to him, “Why then are you baptizing, if you are not the 1Christ, nor Elijah, nor 2the Prophet?” 26John answered them, saying, “3I baptize 4in water, but among you stands One whom you do not know. 27It is 5He who comes after me, of whom I am not worthy even to untie the 6strap of His sandal.” 28These things took place in Bethany 7beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing people.
