Hosea 8:5-10
51He has rejected your 2calf, Samaria, saying, “My anger burns against them!” How long will they be incapable of 3innocence?6For from Israel comes even this! A 4craftsman made it, so it is not God; Assuredly, the calf of Samaria will be broken to 5pieces.7For 6they sow wind And they harvest a 7storm. The standing grain has no 8kernels; It yields 9no 10grain. If it were to yield, strangers would swallow it.
8Israel has been 11swallowed up; They are now among the nations Like a 12vessel in which no one delights.9For they have gone up to 13Assyria, Like 14a wild donkey all alone; Ephraim has 15paid fees for 16lovers.10Even though they 17pay for allies among the nations, I will 18gather them up now; And they will begin 19to diminish Because of the burden of the 20king of officials.
