Hosea 10:5-8
5The inhabitants of Samaria will fear For the 12calf of 3Beth-aven. Indeed, its people will mourn for it, And its 4idolatrous priests 5will cry out over it, Over its 6glory, since it has left it.6The thing itself will be brought to 7Assyria As a gift of tribute to 89King Jareb; Ephraim will 10be 11seized with shame, And Israel will be ashamed of its 12own plan.7Samaria will be 13destroyed with her king, Like a twig on the surface of the water.8Also the 14high places of Aven, the 15sin of Israel, will be destroyed; 16Thorns and thistles will grow on their altars; Then they will 17say to the mountains, “Cover us!” And to the hills, “Fall on us!”
