Haggai 1:6-11

6You have 1sown much, only to 2harvest little; you eat, but there is not enough to be satisfied; you drink, but there is not enough to become drunk; you put on clothing, but there is not enough for 3anyone to get warm; and the one who earns, earns wages to put into a money bag full of holes.”

7The Lord of armies says this: “4Consider your ways! 8Go up to the 5mountains, bring wood, and 6rebuild the 7temple, that I may be 8pleased with it and be 9honored,” says the Lord. 9“10You 11start an ambitious project, but behold, it comes to little; when you bring it home, I 12blow it away. Why?” declares the Lord of armies. “It is because of My house which 13remains desolate, while each of you runs to his own house. 10Therefore, because of you the 14sky has withheld 15its dew, and the earth has withheld its produce. 11And I called for a 16drought on the land, on the mountains, on the grain, on the new wine, on the oil, on what the ground produces, on 17mankind, on cattle, and on 18all the products of the labor of 19your hands.”
