Ezekiel 28:2-9

2“Son of man, say to the 1leader of Tyre, ‘The Lord 2God says this: “Because your heart is haughty And you have said, ‘3I am a god, I sit in the seat of 4gods In the heart of the seas’; Yet you are a 5mortal and not God, Although you make your heart like the heart of God--3Behold, you are wiser than 6Daniel; There is no secret that is a match for you!4By your wisdom and understanding You have acquired 7riches for yourself And have acquired gold and silver for your treasuries.5By your great wisdom, by your 8trade You have increased your riches, And your 9heart is haughty because of your riches-- 6Therefore this is what the Lord God says: ‘Because you have 10made your heart Like the heart of God,7Therefore, behold, I am going to bring 11strangers against you, The 12most ruthless of the nations. And they will draw their swords Against the beauty of your wisdom And profane your splendor.8They will bring you down to the pit, And you will die the 13death of those who are killed In the heart of the seas.9Will you still say, “I am a god,” In the presence of one who kills you, Though you are a mortal and not God, In the hands of those who wound you?
