Ecclesiastes 12:9-14

9In addition to being wise, the Preacher also taught the people knowledge; and he pondered, searched out, and arranged 1many proverbs. 10The Preacher sought to find 2delightful words and to write 3words of truth correctly.

11The 4words of the wise are like 56goads, and masters of these collections are like driven 7nails; they are given by one Shepherd. 12But beyond this, my son, be warned: the 8writing of 9many books is endless, and excessive 10study is 11wearying to the body.

13The conclusion, when everything has been heard, is: 12fear God and 13keep His commandments, because this applies to 14every person. 14For 15God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil.
