Deuteronomy 3:15-20

15 1To Machir I gave Gilead. 16To the Reubenites and the Gadites I gave from Gilead even as far as the 2Valley of Arnon, the middle of the 3valley 4as a border, and as far as the 5river 6Jabbok, the border of the sons of Ammon; 17the Arabah also, with the Jordan 7as a border, from 8 9Chinnereth 10even as far as the sea of the Arabah, 11the Salt Sea, 12at the foot of the slopes of Pisgah on the east.

18“Then I commanded you at that time, saying, ‘13The Lord your God has given you this land to possess it; 14all you 15valiant men shall cross over armed ahead of your brothers, the sons of Israel. 19 16However, your wives, your little ones, and your livestock (I know that you have 17much livestock) shall remain in your cities which I have given you, 20 18until the Lord gives rest to your fellow countrymen as to you, and they also take possession of the land which the Lord your God is giving them beyond the Jordan. 19Then you may return, each man to his possession which I have given you.’
