Daniel 9:20-27
20While I was still 1speaking and praying, and 2confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and 3presenting my plea before the Lord my God in behalf of the holy mountain of my God, 21while I was still speaking in prayer, the man 4Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision 5previously, 6came to me 7in my extreme weariness about the time of the 8evening offering. 22And he instructed me and talked with me and said, “Daniel, I have come now to give you insight with 9understanding. 23At the 10beginning of your pleas the 11command was issued, and I have come to tell you, because you are 1213highly esteemed; so pay attention to the message and gain 14understanding of the vision.
24“Seventy 1516weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to 17finish the wrongdoing, to 18make an end of sin, to 19make atonement for guilt, to bring in 20everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and 21prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy Place. 25So you are to know and understand that from the issuing of a 2223decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem, until 2425Messiah the 26Prince, there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; it will be built again, with 27streets and moat, even in times of distress. 26Then after the sixty-two weeks, the 28Messiah will be 29cut off and have 30nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will 31destroy the city and the sanctuary. And 32its end will come with a 33flood; even to the end 34there will be war; desolations are determined. 27And he will confirm a covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of 3536abominations will come the one who 37makes desolate, until a 38complete destruction, one that is 39decreed, gushes forth on the one who 40makes desolate.”
