Acts 23:26-30

26“Claudius Lysias, to the 1most excellent governor Felix: 2Greetings.

27When this man was seized by the Jews and was about to be killed by them, 3I came up to them with the troops and rescued him, 4after learning that he was a Roman. 28And 5wanting to ascertain the basis for the charges they were bringing against him, I 6brought him down to their 78Council; 29and I found that he was being accused regarding 9questions in their Law, but 10was 11not charged with anything deserving death or 12imprisonment.

30When I was 13informed that there would be 14a plot against the man, I sent him to you at once, also instructing 15his accusers to 16bring charges against him before you.”
