Acts 2:37-47

37Now when they heard this, they were 1pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “2Brothers, 3what are we to do?” 38Peter said to them, “4Repent, and each of you be 5baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39For 6the promise is for you and your children and for all who are 7far away, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.” 40And with many other words he solemnly 8testified and kept on urging them, saying, “9Be saved from this 10perverse generation!” 41So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand 1112souls. 42They were 13continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to 14the breaking of bread and 15to 16prayer.

4317Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many 18wonders and 19signs were taking place through the apostles. 44And all the believers 20were together and 21had all things in common; 45and they 22would sell their property and possessions and share them with all, to the extent that anyone had need. 4623Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and 24breaking bread 25from house to house, they were taking their 26meals together with gladness and 27sincerity of heart, 47praising God and 28having favor with all the people. And the Lord 29was adding to 30their number day by day 31those who were being saved.
