Acts 2:37-47

37Now when they heard this, they were 1pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “2Brethren, 34what shall we do?” 38Peter said to them, “5Repent, and each of you be 6baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39For 7the promise is for you and your children and for all who are 8far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.” 40And with many other words he solemnly 9testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, “10Be saved from this 11perverse generation!” 41So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand 1213souls. 42They were 14continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to 15the breaking of bread and 1617to prayer.

4318Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many 19wonders and 20signs were taking place through the apostles. 44And all those who had believed 21were together and 22had all things in common; 45and they 23began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need. 4624Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and 25breaking bread 26from house to house, they were taking their 27meals together with gladness and 28sincerity of heart, 47praising God and 29having favor with all the people. And the Lord 30was adding 31to their number day by day 32those who were being saved.
