Acts 15:5-10
5But some of 1the sect of the 2Pharisees who had believed stood up, saying, “It is necessary to 3circumcise 4them and to direct them to keep the Law of Moses.”
65The apostles and the elders came together to 6look into this 7matter. 7After there had been much 8debate, Peter stood up and said to them, “9Brothers, you know that 10in the early days 11God made a choice among you, that by my mouth the Gentiles would hear the word of 12the gospel and believe. 8And God, 13who knows the heart, testified to them 14giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He also did to us; 9and 15He made no distinction between us and them, 16cleansing their hearts by faith. 10Since this is the case, why are you 17putting God to the test by placing upon the neck of the disciples a yoke which 18neither our forefathers nor we have been able to bear?
