2 Samuel 24:8-10
8So when they had roamed about through the whole land, they came to Jerusalem at the end of nine months and twenty days. 9And Joab gave 1the number of the census of the people to the king: in Israel there were 2eight hundred thousand valiant men who drew the sword, and the men of Judah were five hundred thousand men.
10Now 3David’s heart 4troubled him after he had counted the people. So David said to the Lord, “5I have sinned greatly in what I have done. But now, Lord, please 6overlook the guilt of Your servant, for 7I have acted very foolishly.”
