2 Peter 1:1-5

1 1Simon Peter, a 2bond-servant and 3apostle of Jesus Christ,

To those who have received 4a faith of the same 5kind as ours, 6by 7the righteousness of 8our God and Savior, Jesus Christ: 2 9Grace and peace be multiplied to you in 10the knowledge of God and of Jesus 11our Lord, 3for His 12divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true 13knowledge of Him who 14called us 15by His own glory and 16excellence. 4Through 17these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent 18promises, so that by them you may become 19partakers of the divine nature, having 20escaped the 21corruption that is in 22the world on account of lust. 5Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith 23supply 24moral 25excellence, and in your moral excellence, 26knowledge,
