1 Timothy 2:6-15
6who 1gave Himself as a ransom for all, the 2testimony 3given at 45the proper time. 76For this I was appointed as a 7preacher and 8an apostle (9I am telling the truth, I am not lying), as a teacher of 10the Gentiles in faith and truth.
8Therefore 11I want the men 12in every place to pray, 13lifting up 14holy hands, without anger and dispute. 9Likewise, I want 15women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, 16modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or expensive apparel, 10but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women making a claim to godliness. 1117A woman must quietly receive instruction with entire submissiveness. 1218But I do not allow a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet. 1319For it was Adam who was first 20created, and then Eve. 14And it was not Adam who was deceived, but 21the woman was 22deceived and 23became a wrongdoer. 15But 24women will be 25preserved through 26childbirth--if they continue in 27faith, love, and sanctity, with moderation.
