1 Peter 3:9-18

91not returning evil for evil or 2insult for insult, but giving a 3blessing instead; for 4you were called for the very purpose that you would 5inherit a blessing. 10For, “6The one who desires life, to love and see good days, Must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.117He must turn away from evil and do good; He must seek peace and pursue it.128For the eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous, And His ears attend to their prayer, But the face of the Lord is against evildoers.”

139And who is 10there to harm you if you prove zealous for what is good? 14But even if you should 11suffer for the sake of righteousness, 12you 13are blessed. 14And do not fear their 15intimidation, and do not be in dread, 15but 16sanctify 17Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready 18to make a 19defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the 20hope that is in you, but 21with gentleness and 22respect; 1623and keep a 24good conscience so that in the thing in which 25you are slandered, those who disparage your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame. 17For 26it is better, 27if 28God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong. 18For 29Christ also 30suffered for sins 31once for all time, the just for the unjust, so that He might 32bring us to God, having been put to death 33in the flesh, but made alive 34in the 35spirit;
