1 Peter 3:14-17

14But even if you should 1suffer for the sake of righteousness, 2you 3are blessed. 4And do not fear their 5intimidation, and do not be in dread,

15but 6sanctify 7Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready 8to make a 9defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the 10hope that is in you, but 11with gentleness and 12respect;

1613and keep a 14good conscience so that in the thing in which 15you are slandered, those who disparage your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame.

17For 16it is better, 17if 18God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong.
