1 Peter 2:16-25
16Act as 1free people, and 2do not use your freedom as a 3covering for evil, but use it as 4bond-servants of God. 175Honor all people, 6love the brotherhood, 7fear God, 8honor the 9king.
1810Servants, be subject to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and 11gentle, but also to those who are 12harsh. 19For this finds favor, if for the sake of 13conscience toward God a person endures 14grief when suffering unjustly. 20For what credit is there if, when you sin and are harshly treated, you endure it with patience? But if 15when you do what is right and suffer for it you patiently endure it, this finds favor with God. 21For 16you have been called for this purpose, 17because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you 18an example, so that you would follow in His steps, 22He who 19committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in His mouth; 2320and while being 21abusively insulted, He did not insult in return; while suffering, He did not threaten, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously; 24and He Himself 2223brought our sins in His body up on the 2425cross, so that we 26might die to 27sin and live for righteousness; 28by His 29wounds you were 30healed. 25For you were 31continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the 32Shepherd and 33Guardian of your souls.
