1 Peter 2:16-25

16Act as 1free men, and 2do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as 3bondslaves of God. 174Honor all people, 5love the brotherhood, 6fear God, 7honor the 8king.

189Servants, be submissive to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and 10gentle, but also to those who are 11unreasonable. 19For this finds 12favor, if for the sake of 13conscience toward God a person bears up under sorrows when suffering unjustly. 20For what credit is there if, when you sin and are harshly treated, you endure it with patience? But if 14when you do what is right and suffer for it you patiently endure it, this finds 15favor with God. 21For 16you have been called for this purpose, 17since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you 18an example for you to follow in His steps, 22who 19committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in His mouth; 2320and while being 21reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously; 24and He Himself 2223bore our sins in His body on the 2425cross, so that we 26might die to 27sin and live to righteousness; for 28by His 29wounds you were 30healed. 25For you were 31continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the 32Shepherd and 33Guardian of your souls.
