1 Peter 1:17-22

17If you 1address as Father the One who 2impartially 3judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves 4in fear during the time of your 5stay on earth; 18knowing that you were not 6 7redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your 8futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, 19but with precious 9blood, as of a 10lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ. 20For He was 11foreknown before 12the foundation of the world, but has 13appeared 14in these last times 15for the sake of you 21who through Him are 16believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and 17gave Him glory, so that your faith and 18hope are in God.

22Since you have 19purified your souls 20in obedience to the truth for a 21sincere love of the brothers and sisters, fervently love one another from 22the heart,
