1 Peter 1:14-21
14As 12obedient children, do not 34be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your 5ignorance, 15but 67like the Holy One who called you, 89be holy yourselves also 10in all your behavior; 16because it is written: “11You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
17If you 12address as Father the One who 13impartially 14judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves 15in fear during the time of your 16stay on earth; 18knowing that you were not 1718redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your 19futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, 19but with precious 20blood, as of a 21lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ. 20For He was 22foreknown before 23the foundation of the world, but has 24appeared 25in these last times 26for the sake of you 21who through Him are 27believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and 28gave Him glory, so that your faith and 29hope are in God.
