1 Peter 1:13-25

13Therefore, 12prepare your minds for action, 34keep sober in spirit, set your 5hope completely on the 6grace to be brought to you at 7the revelation of Jesus Christ. 14As 89obedient children, do not 1011be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your 12ignorance, 15but 1314like the Holy One who called you, 1516be holy yourselves also 17in all your behavior; 16because it is written: “18You shall be holy, for I am holy.”

17If you 19address as Father the One who 20impartially 21judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves 22in fear during the time of your 23stay on earth; 18knowing that you were not 2425redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your 26futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, 19but with precious 27blood, as of a 28lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ. 20For He was 29foreknown before 30the foundation of the world, but has 31appeared 32in these last times 33for the sake of you 21who through Him are 34believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and 35gave Him glory, so that your faith and 36hope are in God.

22Since you have 37purified your souls 38in obedience to the truth for a 39sincere love of the brothers and sisters, fervently love one another from 40the heart, 23for you have been 41born again 42not of seed which is perishable, but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring 43word of God. 24For, “44All flesh is like grass, And all its glory is like the flower of grass. The grass withers, And the flower falls off,2545But the word of the Lord endures forever.” And this is 46the word which was 47preached to you.
