1 Peter 1:1-5

1 1Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ,

To those who reside as 2strangers, 3scattered throughout 4Pontus, 5Galatia, 6Cappadocia, 7Asia, and 8Bithynia, 9who are chosen 2according to the 10foreknowledge of God the Father, 11by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, 12to 13obey Jesus Christ and be 14sprinkled with His blood: 15May grace and peace be multiplied to you.

3 16Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who 17according to His great mercy 18has caused us to be born again to 19a living hope through the 20resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4to obtain an 21inheritance which is imperishable, undefiled, and 22will not fade away, 23reserved in heaven for you, 5who are 24protected by the power of God 25through faith for 26a salvation ready 27to be revealed in the last time.
